Meet the Team
Dr. Michal Kleinlerer
Dr. Michal Kleinlerer was born and raised in New York City. She attended the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a dual degree in Anthropology and Communications. At the end of her senior year of college, Dr. Kleinlerer realized that she really wanted to become a dentist! She spent the next three years working full-time as a dental assistant and fulfilling her dental school science requirements. Of these three years, one was spent at the University of Colorado, Denver, and two at Hunter College in New York City. Dr. Kleinlerer trained at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, where she received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree (DMD). She remained at Harvard to complete her specialty training in Orthodontics, and also earned a Masters degree in Medical Science (MMSc). This training provided Dr. Kleinlerer with an outstanding education in medicine, dentistry, and orthodontics. She is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and a member of the American Dental Association. She is also Invisalign certified, as well as iBraces certified. Upon moving to Maine in 2007, Dr. Kleinlerer worked as an associate in an orthodontic practice in Bangor, ME, as well as at an orthodontic practice in Waterville, ME. When the opportunity arose to transition into her own practice, Dr. Kleinlerer found herself eager and ready to take the next big step. Dr. David Comeau, who had been in practice for 35 years, transitioned the practice to Dr. Kleinlerer, who has enthusiastically continued the care of existing patients. Dr. Kleinlerer intends on maintaining a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and is excited to provide quality and personable care. Her treatment approach combines innovative techniques with evidence-based research to provide her patients with treatment committed to excellence. She is devoted to always furthering her education through reading, continuing education courses, and study clubs. Dr. Kleinlerer and her husband, Dr. Jonathan Shenkin, live in Brunswick ME. Dr. Shenkin is a pediatric dentist, and has his own practice in Augusta, ME. He loves going to work - not just to treat his young patients, but also because of the video games and tv screens throughout the office! In her free time, Dr. Kleinlerer likes to spend time with her husband, her miniature dachshund Charlie, and her cat Guinness. She also likes to travel, read, photograph, paint, play her cello, and exercise, especially cardio kickboxing. |
Melissa Coolidge- Financial Coordinator, MK Ortho Events Coordinator
Hi, my name is Melissa! I am one of the first faces you will see, as I work at the front desk alongside Diana. I was born and raised in New Hampshire and moved to the beautiful state of Maine two years ago. I attended high school at Berwick Academy in Maine, and graduated from the University of New Hampshire in May 2009 with a BA in Psychology. My current residence is in Brooks, ME where I live with my fiance, Derek. We share our home with our yellow lab named Trapper, black lab named Tessie, and our kitty named Skittle. We love animals, and hope to add even more to our home! My hobbies outside of work include hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, dancing, and photography. I also enjoy many sports, especially soccer, golf, and hockey. I love to travel and have spent time visiting France, England, and many islands in the Caribbean. I spent the summer of 2009 abroad in Alaska, where I backpacked through the Talkeetna Wilderness. I consider myself lucky to be working for MK Orthodontics, and am excited to be part of our wonderful team! I am eager to meet you, and hope to make your experience at MK a memorable one! =) |

Lynsie Dube - Certified Dental Assistant
Hi everyone! My name is Lynsie and I am one of Dr. Kleinlerer's assistants. As an Orthodontic Assistant I do many things including helping to put braces on, taking braces off (which is my favorite), and everything in between! I was born and raised in Maine and have spent most of my life living in the small town of Whitefield. I attended Erskine Academy and Husson University for a short while. I eventually ended up at the University of Maine at Augusta where I graduated Cum Laude with a certificate in Dental Assisting. I have my licensure in Radiology and am also certified by the Dental Assistant National Board as a Certified Dental Assistant. During my clinical experience in school, I found ortho to be the most exciting and am so lucky to be working with such a wonderful person as Dr. Kleinlerer and the rest of our amazing team.
In my free time I like to hike, bike, exercise, travel, read, play with my dog Red (who looks like a little lion), and experience life to its fullest. The most exciting thing I've done has definitely been skydiving. I will never forget what it felt like to be on the edge of a plane 14,000 feet up in the air, then free fall at 120 mph... freedom of flight! It is an expierence I recommend to all, and one I would love to do again.
I look forward to meeting you and can't wait for you to enjoy our fun and outgoing office as much as I do! :o) |
